If you already ride, you can rent the same kites and boards the school uses for its lessons. The gear is checked every day, repaired on site and renewed every season. It is brought to Diabat, eight minutes south of town, and the team usually stays on the beach all day, so you can swap kite sizes if the wind changes.

The range covers kites from 7 to 14 m, twin-tips and directional boards from 132 to 145 cm, and waist and seat harnesses from XS to XXL, plus helmets, impact vests and safety leashes. A pump and bar repair tools are on the beach.

To rent, you need to ride on your own and stay upwind, and to know self-rescue, body-dragging and relaunching the kite from the water. The first time there is a short conversation about your level rather than a test. Every rental starts with a free ten-minute briefing: the day’s wind direction, the tide, where the boats are, the limits of the riding zone and what to do in an emergency.
